Mooh Emile walks into Mezam as Ndumu Vincent kneels in appeal to Amba boys.
By Etoh Anzah George in Bamenda.
NW Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique has entreated Mooh Emile, the new SDO for Mezam, to uphold diligence, assiduity and above all strive in an unflinching and unquenching effort to curb the crisis in the division. Said to have been SG at the West Governor’s Office where he harvested enough administrative and governance knowledge and later on SDO for Bui before his recent appointment to Mezam, Mooh Emile takes over command of Mezam at a time when confidence building mechanisms and living together continue to be of utmost importance.
The senior administrator who hails from the Nkam Division of the Littoral region will have to not only build peace but also ensure a peaceful political atmosphere in the upcoming elections; supervise state structures; and uphold fairness in the discharge of his duties.
The ceremony which took place at the Bamenda Grandstand put a cap on the Governor’s tour to divisions under his administrative control.
Smear campaign fails over NW Governor
Meanwhile Adolphe Lele Lafrique had just concluded the installation proper and had left for the SDO’s cabinet where he was expected to oversee the signing and handing over ceremony, when news erupted on social media depicting a blood-stained face acclaimed to be him moaning over his wounds. The governor whom The Horizon saw minutes before was safe and sound. He could not understand nor ascertain the depth and reason for such a cheap lie. Truth be told. The governor’s tour to Bui and Donga-Mantung was marred by sporadic gunshots and journalists embedded in his envoy, among which number be this humble reporter, can attest that it was but a storm in a teacup. Some amba fighters were clearly “neutralized” in one of the skirmishes with the security forces.
Ndumu Vincent kneels in appeal to Amba boys, population
Addressing the members of the constituted corps together with other administrative officials that made it to the Bamenda grandstand, Ndumu Vincent Nji in his welcome speech appealed to the population and separatist fighters to consider reason and shun all such derogatory acts. The latter who before now had reacted by saying "the state has not used its weaponry enough" to crack down on the Amba Boys was rather seen kneeling down in appeal for the dropping of guns. He further pledged his unflinching support to the new SDO whom he begged to support Hysacam to carry out its daunting task of waste management which has continued to pose a challenge owing to the crisis.
