Business-to-Business: Italian firms unveil big possibilities for Cameroonian SMEs.
Over 100 Small and Medium-sized Enterprise from Cameroon have exchanged notes with some 11 Italian enterprises. The Italian delegation, comprising 11 enterprises, used the forum, which was organized by the Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME) Promotion Agency, in partnership with EMO International Consulting, a Cameroonian firm that works in synergy with an Italian firm, International Commitments, to present the immense partnership opportunities Cameroonian SMEs can tap from. Among the 11 firms from Italy, some are producers of materials, others logistics service providers, while others are funders. During the forum, already established Cameroonian SMEs were schooled on how they can easily buy the needed input materials from Italy, with the facilitation of the firms represented at the forum. According to the chief of service for Cooperation and Partnership at the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Promotion Agency, Laure Nathalie Wanolja, the Cameroonian firms stand a great chance of getting their input materials funded by the present firms. She added that firms wishing to purchase materials can confidently do so from home, without having to travel. “It requires contacting the right firm, which will purchase the goods, ship them and the local firm simply reimburses the money at the level of the agency,” she stated.
The forum, which held at the Chamber of Commerce, saw the participation of officials from the Ministries of Trade, External Relations, as well as Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industry. The forum comes at the close of the weeklong activities to promote Italian business opportunities. The weeklong business-to-business forum that held under the auspices of Cameroonian and Italian authorities presented Cameroonian business operators with potential partnership opportunities in Italy. The Italian Ambassador held a press conference to further throw light on the available opportunities. Among the over 11 firms represented at the forum were PENCO Food Machinery, a global leading company in the conception and production of equipment to transform fruits, tomatoes and pasteurized milk products and WESTERN CO, an Italian Solar Energy Company. Apart from producers, funding bodies like ETC INVEST SPA also presented the possibilities available to Cameroonian firms.
