The recent prefectural appointments intended to oil the administrative machinery of the state saw the Yaounde IV locality lose its previous occupant to the benefit of the Santa Municipity. To this note, Simon Emile Mooh as per administrative procedures made his armoured ride to Santa where he commissioned George Magloire to power.
In his speech, the no-nonsense SDO highlighted major expectations and objectives that await him. Amongst many he said, "you are charged to systematically seize all agents of secession and present them to the state; ensure the effective presence and discharge of duties by civil servants; promote the spirit of living together; create a conducive atmosphere for all to participate in upcoming divisional, municipal and regional elections".
Coming at a time when the municipality has hit "dooms records" with the stripping naked and consequent beheading of a prison wardress Ayafor Florence, and the raping of 4 women and eventual killing of one, the need for peace to return to the area remains paramount.
The ceremony which held at the Santa municipal grand stand was sparsely attended, an indication of the height of the mountain "George may either climb or be climbed".
The optimism of the new Santa DO at the traditional but administrative decree of "take command" tells of the task that awaits him.
On the sidelines of the event, the youths of the community under the leadership of YCPDM president joined Fru Jonathan (Santa Bigwig) in chants of appreciation. They appealed to the senior administrative official to do all in his powers to classify some of their second and 3rd class fons who have since been a subject of mockery by presumed separatist propagandists.
