The Anglophone crisis that has lasted 3 years now, never kicked off around the North West in a unique degree pendulum. Through the crisis, many elites who had made home their ceremonial avenues have since deserted their localities. Comparatively, public events, installations, celebration of national days amongst others had culminated in excitement jamborees where many joined to salute and aggrandize themselves under the umbrella of togetherness.
Lately the contrary has been observed as public events have since been considered non events by elites who have taken up state abodes in the nation's capital and beyond as safer hideouts from their natural and moral obligations. This was the synopsis of an appeal launched by Fru Jonathan, section president for Mezam II CPDM, and secretary general at MINMIDT.
Speaking at a ceremony that closely followed the installation of Basillekin George Magloire Emmanuel as Divisional Officer for Santa, Fru Jonathan said: "Mr D.O where are our elites? They are absent. Where are our fons ? They are absent. We count on your administrative powers to make santa safe so our elites can return".
In the heydays, Santa was noted for its multi-dimensional coins in politics. She topped the chart with many having used this canoe to access heights in government. Since the advent of the crisis, the Lion-hearted Jonathan has been the only one seen in the municipality even when gun shots are said to be echoing from nearby homes.
To add colour to the event, Fru Jonathan backed by the youths of the municipalities who have since formed a vigilante group to ascertain security, dressed their new D.O in a traditional North West "Atogho" as a remarkable sign of welcome.
