Freed Abdul Karim to meet with diplomats today.
Released Muslim scholar, Abdul Karim is set to meet with some international diplomats just days after his release.
“I am still in Yaounde where I was confined and through your prayers God reminds the devil WHO runs the world”, he is quoted by Mimi Mefo Info as having declared .
“I shall be meeting some international diplomats early next week to show gratitude and channel a debrief”, he goes on. The first of Karim’s meetings he explains starts with the Swiss today Monday. It should be recalled that he was arrested moments after leaving the Swiss Embassy.
“Meantime any developments will be made known to you. The date of my departure for Homeland as well as the Walima (Thanksgiving) would be published all in due course”, he adds.
In his first message after his release, he wrote on his Facebook page:
“Allahu Akbar…Dear Southern Cameroonians, God answered your prayers. Your servant is free. God bless you,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Followers and well-wishers have been celebrating his release, describing him as son of the soil and true freedom fighter. “The one and only warrior whose only weapon is the truth. Welcome back comrade. Alluta continua,” one of them wrote.
Abdul Karim spent close to 40 days behind bars after his unexplained arrest in front of the Swiss embassy in Yaounde on September 25, 2019.
Abdul Karim has remained one of the critical voices of Yaounde government’s poor management of the Anglophone crisis which has killed over 3.000 and left over 600.000 others displaced.
