On the occasion of the celebration of the 37th anniversary of President Paul Biya in power, North West CPDM bigwigs organized a low-keyed commemoration event at the Ayaba Hotel in Bamenda during which they spoke in glowing terms about the achievements of their ‘champion’ through the various policy options he has adopted during his reign. The Horizon caught up with some diehard supporters and defenders of Biya’s policies in the region for their assessment:

Santa will forever be grateful to President Paul Biya for his relentless works in ensuring peace and unity. Owing to our strategic location into the North West, we hope for the provision of funds for the ring road answers the worries of the people who will in the days ahead enjoy the best. 37 years of rulership is 37 years of a marked acknowledgement of Santa and the North West in his positively rigorous development plan. However, faced with the recent Anglophone crisis, the Mezam II CPDM President urged the masses in his Santa municipality to convince their brothers to consider the track of peace while promising them potable water, schools, more access to education in a bid to ease the living together principle.
