On the occasion of the celebration of the 37th anniversary of President Paul Biya in power, North West CPDM bigwigs organized a low-keyed commemoration event at the Ayaba Hotel in Bamenda during which they spoke in glowing terms about the achievements of their ‘champion’ through the various policy options he has adopted during his reign. The Horizon caught up with some diehard supporters and defenders of Biya’s policies in the region for their assessment:
Rose Mbah Acha, CONSUPE boss:
To the legal mind and Momo Apostle, for 37 years in power PAUL Biya’s credo has always been peace, peace and unity.
Quizzed on whether Biya has been consistent, the CONSUPE boss replied:
“Of course this is evident. He privileges peace, dialogue and has been at the forefront of normalization, not only in the NW/SW. In the Far North region too his message has been clear: ‘We are brothers and sisters knitted in unity’ and with his big ambitions by the year 2035 Cameroon can be proud to emerge.
It should be noted with his ideology of peace, peace, peace, Cameroon can hope for better days. On this very platform therefore I take this opportunity to entreat our sons and daughters who have taken up arms against the state to yield to the peace maker’s call for all to return under the umbrella of positive reasoning for optimal development attainment.”
The CONSUPE boss was further joined by militants from her native Momo drawn from Widikum, Batibo, Mbengwi, Ngie, Njikwa in a formal celebration proper.
