On the occasion of the celebration of the 37th anniversary of President Paul Biya in power, North West CPDM bigwigs organized a low-keyed commemoration event at the Ayaba Hotel in Bamenda during which they spoke in glowing terms about the achievements of their ‘champion’ through the various policy options he has adopted during his reign. The Horizon caught up with some diehard supporters and defenders of Biya’s policies in the region for their assessment:

I am honoured to celebrate 37 years of the head of state’s accession to power. He has done and sacrificed a lot. There are multiple difficulties in the North West like the South west but he has been going through sleepless nights to ensure peace and development reign continually in the nation. It’s true some scribes insult his trust given to them but I think collectively if we put hands on deck we shall recount diverse success stories to the development of the nation, the Widikum elite hinted. His vision of normalization nevertheless stands tall as diverse plans have erupted further reflecting a visionary leader who has tactfully and tactically mapped out a constant governance and construction plan for the state.
