On the occasion of the celebration of the 37th anniversary of President Paul Biya in power, North West CPDM bigwigs organized a low-keyed commemoration event at the Ayaba Hotel in Bamenda during which they spoke in glowing terms about the achievements of their ‘champion’ through the various policy options he has adopted during his reign. The Horizon caught up with some diehard supporters and defenders of Biya’s policies in the region for their assessment:

Paul Atanga Nji, Mezam CPDM Central Committee Delegation Head

“1982 to today depicts years of multiple achievements - construction of bridges, provision of a university to the NW, ratification of international conventions beneficial to Cameroon, amongst others, answer it all. These achievements herein answer to not only devotedness but progress and further justify why we must remain unified under an illustrious and devoted Head of State President Paul Biya.”

The MINAT boss seized the opportunity of his visit to chair a security meeting at the conference hall of the NW Governor's office .The gathering which saw the participation, legal, security, and administrative officials, was geared towards mapping out strategic plans and appraisal of the security climate on ground."We have been able to take stock of the security situation wherein with a commendable note from the governor I have learnt the population has impressively heeded government’s call by denouncing pro-separatist fighters who will face the law". He added: "The crisis has caused untold suffering to our populations with many fleeing their homes. Consequently, in reviewing these concerns we have to review and carve out a road map to ensure permanent return to normalcy in the region.”
