SDF boycotts November Parliamentary Session over non-implementation National Dialogue Resolutions.
The SDF has respected its decision to keep its members of parliament out of the November session of parliament. Their seats were empty at the opening of parliament last Tuesday.
The boycott decision was adopted after the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC meeting over the weekend in Yaounde. It was to protest the delay to implement the resolutions of the just ended Major National Dialogue that had among other recommendations, the granting of a special status to the North West and South West regions.
The decision also comes following an earlier NEC meeting in August where the party threatened to pull its representatives from parliament if the government failed to hasten steps meant to resolve the crisis.
This is not the first time the SDF is using parliament to express its dissatisfaction with the handling of state affairs. Its MPs had walked out of sessions several times in protest.
