Italian investors round off prospection mission.
The visiting Italian delegation has taken sufficient notes and by the time they conclude their fact-finding mission they would have found a thousand and one reasons to invest in Cameroon. Upon arrival, the delegation held talks with Prime Minister Dr Joseph Dion Ngute on November 11, 2019 before diving out to relish the different investment opportunities in the health, energy and agricultural sectors. The 14-man Italian business delegation led by the Honorary Consul of Cameroon to Milan Italy, Esther Nkolo Lekoua, spent five working days in the country which ended last Friday. November 15. They were accompanied by the Cooperation Association Italia-Cameroon (ASICA), which is made up of both Cameroonians in the Diaspora and Italians.
The association was an upshot of President Paul Biya’s recent visit to Italy.
Speaking shortly after the audience, the Secretary General of ASICA, Simon Pierre Ntomb, unveiled that the association worked with the support of Cameroon’s Embassy to highlight investment possibilities in the nation. He added that the business delegation that was on the prospection mission in Cameroon is among the first fruits of the Work the association has been doing. From the look of things, the Italian delegation is eying investment opportunities in renewable and non-renewable energy, potable water supply and the health domains, as well as agriculture. Agriculture has been in the limelight recently. Key government officials, including the Head of State, have recurrently challenged the youth to consider investing in agriculture.
The delegation proposed a partnership protocol, which they hoped would be signed by the time their mission ended.
