The constitution of CPDM candidates for the February 9 2020 twin polls in the North West is mired in controversy. Setting aside instructions pertaining to fairness and inclusiveness as enshrined in CPDM Secretary General Jean Nkuete’s address, some selection committee members, have gone for candidates without a following. In so doing, they have eliminated popular and grassroots candidates. A case in point is Momo Division where the very people-centred Hon. Enwe Francis is in danger of being sacrificed. The killers of this giant are said to be H.E. Rose Mbah Acha Head of Permanent Divisional Delegation for Momo CPDM and Ama Tutu Muna. The duo are said to have manoeuvred to slip in the candidature of a Kumba-based lawyer as list leader for the legislatives in Widikum. At the announcement of request for files of aspiring candidates for the legislative and municipal elections Rose Mbah Acha drove into Bamenda Tuesday November 19 where she began checking and receiving files for prospective candidates vying for the posts of councillors and eventually mayors, and members of parliament. Enwe Francis Abi , CPDM MP for Momo West constituency and Substantive in the 2020 upcoming legislative, was backed by Ngie WCPDM section president as alternate in his list. Surprisingly, the list considered quite fair and balanced, underwent modifications after its reception by AMA Tutu Muna,head of delegation for selection of files at the legislatives. The female-dominated team soon compelled Enwe Francis to a FAKE and cooked-up agreement owing to a misguided and unfounded power rotatory proposal. Through the acclaimed proposal, Awutah Philip, a Kumba- based lawyer who has no mastery of the Momo political face, and who has never participated in any parliamentary elections soon became the chosen candidate. Paradoxically, throughout the one-week files compilation period at the Ayaba Hotel premises, Awutah Philip has not set foot in Bamenda. He had not participated in any campaigns and was noted to have refused campaigning for CPDM presidential aspirant and now president of the Republic Paul Biya under whose party the latter now is reported to have legislative interest. Thinking out of the box, 4 fundamental questions arise, how had he compiled documents without his signatures when Friday had remained the deadline for submission and he was never seen in Bamenda? Under what base was his I.D and birth certificates legalised and used by his mimmicks to get him registered? What terms and binding agreement can be tabled in justification of an agreement of a power rotatory agreement? And lastly a proof of past campaign and caravan list and supports to which the latter can be credited to have effort fully contributed to the growth of his party of interest will in a nutshell lay to rest many worries.

In the wake of the Anglophone crisis and lately Abi is reported to have seen his native home in Widikum his constituency burnt down to ashes by separatist fighters depriving his family and children of education as they hitherto lived and dwelled amongst their brethren. He was also subjected to attacks by separatist fighters all emanating from his public show of unflinching support to the ruling CPDM party.

Within the framework of ensuring the enthronement of peace and restoration of civic life in the NW and SW regions of Cameroon, the Widikum offspring was appointed leader of the diaspora commission to South Africa where he contributed in the sensitization and reception of files and worries which were tabled at the just ended major national dialogue. Enwe’s courage in accepting to take up team leader role in the Momo Peace Caravan team attests to his love for party and fatherland. It should be noted in the said caravan out of 10 members only 4 turned out as many disappeared and refused daring, putting the lion-hearted and peace advocate to task. Taking up the challenge therefore Mbon and Mbengwi community saluted his wit and zeal as he responded to worries whose results many hold can bear fruits. By risking his life in such a venture, sometimes travelling by public transport, Enwe is undeniably a real apostle of the regime in and out of season. Many begin to pose the question why his list and intention to run for the legislative should be turned out without his consent. Why do injustice to a man who serves and is still serving well? Rejecting an incumbent who is vice section president co supported by a section president remains a sad and shameful venture. Worse still, certifying documents with birth certificates for a person who has no role in the party remains questionable and unacceptable.
