Jude Viban elected CAMASEJ president.
Jude Viban elected CAMASEJ president.
Jude Viban of the Yaounde Branch is the next President of the Cameroon English-Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ).
He was voted into office last Saturday during an elective General Assembly of CAMASEJ that held in Douala. He polled 126 votes as against the 92 polled by his rival, Moki Charles Linonge.
The election is said to have been mired in controversy in the wake of accusations and counter accusations among supporters of both candidates. Irregularities cited in the electoral process ranged from bribery, corruption and voting by proxy.
Other members of the Jude Viban-led exco are Maimo Davidson (Vice President);
Wanchia Cynthia (SG),Bennen Buma Ghana (VICE SG),Osla Ajeverdson(Treasurer)
Nanji Pelagie (finance secretary), Frida Egbe(Assistant Finsec), Jatto Richard(PRO ), Richard Shengang (Social Sec ), Tayong Fah Elvis,(Auditor ).
The new team has the challenge to address the ills of the journalism profession, right the wrongs, or better the rights as per their pledges.
