ADDAX Petroleum supports MINSANTE to fight against Cardiovascular Diseases.

The minister of health, representative of ADDAX PETROLEUM and other partners

ADDAX PETROLEUM on Thursday, December 5, 2019 donated 78 cardiopad kits to support the Ministry of Public Health in fighting cardiovascular diseases in Cameroon. This was during an event that took place at the conference hall of the Ministry of Public Health, presided over by the Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie in the presence of the Secretary of State in Charge of Epidemics, Alim Hayatou, Representatives of ADDAX PETROLEUM, HIMORE MEDICAL and other administrators of the Ministries.

The donation comes in as a commitment of ADDAX PETROLEUM in supporting the population of Cameroon in the health sector.

Minister Manaouda Malachie lauded the sacrifices of the donor company, saying that such initiatives are vital as they come to assist Cameroonians who cannot financially access medical facilities in times of need.

The cardiopad initiative was prioritised considering the limited number of cardiologists in Cameroon and the increasing population of the patients with heart problems.

“We support in health, environment, education and other areas where the society is in need. The Cardiopad will help to improve life and health in rural areas where people mostly lack medical equipment. We only have 65 cardiologists to cover the entire territory,” said Enyegue Christine, representative of ADDAX PETROLEUM. She added that they were interested in going to where there are limited resources.

The Minister promised his ministry would make good use of the cardiopads while applauding ADDAX PETROLEUM for being supportive in its friendship with the government of Cameroon.

Arthur Zang, CEO of Himore Medical, said they have so far deployed 20 cardiopads to the field in Cameroon and they have all received positive results.

“We are very happy to bring our support to the ministry of public health and ADDAX PETROLEUM. We are very grateful because ADDAX PETROLEUM decided to produce this cardiopad free for Cameroonian Hospitals and they have signed an agreement with the ministry of public health,” said Arthur Zang, the CEO of the company fabricating cardiopads which doubles as a technical partner to the project.

He said as a technical partner, they will make the cardiopads available in the chosen hospitals and equally ensure their maintenance while training those to operate them.
