Actions for a digital economy.
The draft budget proposal of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication (MINPOSTEL) projected at FCFA 39 billion 193 million for 2020 was defended by minister, Minette Libom Li Likeng, before the committee on Finance and the Budget of the National Assembly on December 4, 2019. This was in the presence of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Bolvine Wakata.
Explaining before the Committee on the Ministry’s focal domains for the 2020 financial year, the Minister said several activities would be executed within the three main programme schemes which include the densification of network and improvement of the national postage coverage, development and optimization of telecommunications and ICT network and services, and strengthening governance and institutional support of the postal, telecommunications and ICT sub-sector.
Combating cyber criminality and continuous sensitization on the responsible use of the internet are other aspects Minister Libom said the Ministry will continue pursuing in the course of 2020.
In order to improve the supply of services in quality and quantity and at affordable prices, the minister said broadband infrastructures will be developed to increase digital confidence.
