CHIEF THE LION MOTIA MATHIAS MOTIA AND COUNCELLORS
All roads will lead in Limbe I Sub Division, come December 20. The purpose is to celebrate the first ever cultural festival of that village, since the enthronement of Mathias Motia as royal father of that village. After the sensitizing tour of Chief Motia Mathias Motia to eight quarter sof his Chiefdom, there are now serious preparations ongoing in all the quarters, each in a competitive mode, to carry the day which will begin December 20 until December 22.
According to Chief Motia Mathias Motia, ‘it will be an all-embracing cultural festival to showcase the culture of the inhabitants of Livanda village. Livanda cultural festival is not for Bakweri people but for the inhabitants of Livanda village because it is a cosmopolitan village.”
Chief Motia went on to call on all inhabitants of his Chief to prepare seriously for the forthcoming festival, no matter from which part of the country you come from. `` There is no stranger in Livanda village because we are all partners in development,`` Chief Motia Mathias Motia reiterated.
On this score, the Chief said every person participating at the festival should appear in cultural attire. ``Please showcase your cultural dressing,`` he stated, adding that the cultural gastronomy will be typically primitive. There shall be no model plate but traditional dishes like the leaves our forefathers used.
``We have a purpose, to exhibit our Cameroon and African culture. We have a lot to sell to foreigners. They should not come and steal our history in the name of research and sell it back to us. Our history is oral and written, let us keep it up. I am only Chief Motia Mathias Motia trying to revive Lifanda village. Therefore I call on you all to join me to make great this cosmopolitan village.”
At the end of a tour of all his quarters, the quarter heads had common complaints, ranging from, no water supply, bad roads and lack of electricity.
