Gov’t condemns killing of 4 military officers in Manyu!
Government has condemned the killing of four military officers following the explosion of a military truck in Otu village, in Manyu Division, believed to have been the handiwork of Ambazonia Self-Defence Forces.
Ashu Kingsley , an Ambazonia activist, reported in a post that the attack, launched by restoration forces, was in retaliation against the atrocities and targeted killings carried out in Manyu by the military in Ossing, Nchang, Ndekwai in the past 2 months, leading to the “deliberate killing” of mostly civilians. He said the Ambazonian forces used advanced IDS and the victims were at the Mamfe Hospital.
But reacting to the incident, government spokesman, Rene Emmanuel Sadi, condemned the attack which he attributed to terrorists. He said the bodies of the slain officers as well as the injured ones had been conveyed by helicopter to the Douala Military Hospital. He expressed the determination of government to protect the populations and ensure the return of normalcy in the strife-torn Anglophone regions. He also hailed the bravado of the military who have maintained their professionalism in the defence of the Fatherland.
