Gendarmerie renovates GPS Bamenda Up Station.
Eighty-seven-year-old Government Primary School, GPS Up Station, Bamenda has jumped for joy with the handing over of renovated infrastructure.
In effect, the Head Teacher, Forsuh Rose Ndifor, received two renovated classrooms, 30 desks, two tables, didactic materials, three trash cans, a block of five renovated latrines and a newly constructed water tap to enhance hygiene and sanitation. She hailed the National Gendarmerie Corps for helping matters in a school, most of whose infrastructure had dilapidated. It took barely two weeks to complete renovation works and the Administrative Staff, PTA and pupils are now at ease in the teaching and learning process. It was against this backdrop that the Legion Commander in charge, Col. Nkoa Mala Valere, said the rehabilitation works were inspired by the Civil Military actions of the National Gendarmerie. He said the works promote the image of the Republican Gendarmerie Corps which is at the service of the population, strengthen the bond between the nation’s Army and the population. He prayed G.P.S Bamenda Station to merit the gesture by producing future Generals, Colonels, Ministers, Regional Delegates etc. Col. Nkoa Mala Valere equally charged the institution to rise to expectation by keeping the school clean and free for all in the teaching and learning process. The Regional Delegate of Basic Education, Wambeng Wilfred Ndong, was around with the blessings of the sector.
