Simon Paley is new TRADEX S.A. GM.

TRADEX S.A, one of the major actors of downstream petroleum in Central Africa, operating some 91 petrol stations, has a new General Manager. He is Simon Paley, a petro-chemical engineer who is holder of a doctorate degree in science.

Paley was appointed GM by the Board of TRADEX S.A which met during an extraordinary session on 12 December 2019 in Yaounde. His installation on 13 December was by Bayiha Bernard, TRADEX S.A. administrator, representing Adolphe Moudiki, Board Chairman. He replaces Nyodog Perrial Jean.

Paley is credited with a rich career at the SNH which he joined on 15 October 1986, becoming head of commercialisation of crude in 1993. Six years later, he was appointed Head of Trading Service. Since 2003, Paley has been doubling as Commercial Director.

By dint of his hard work, Paley won the trust of the SNH Group whom he represented on the boards of HYDRAC from  1993 to 2006; SCDP from 2002 to 2005; CSPH and SONARA since 2005; Tradex S.A. since 2009 and Cameroon Oil Treminal SA (COTSA) since 2012.

Parallel to his function of board member, Paley is SNH representative  at the Technical Follow-up Committee (CTS) of Economic Programmes with the IMF and the World Bank since 2001, Member of the ad-hoc committee in charge of follow-up of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) since 2005, member of  National Committee of the Organisation of African Petroleum Producers (CNAPPO) since 2006 and the first ever  head of the Internal Commission for the award of contracts at TRADEX, created and installed in 2019.

TRADEX S.A. was founded in 1999 by the SNH. It has branches in Cameroon, Tchad, Central African Republic and Equatorial Guinea. It employs 180 persons directly and 1500 collaborators indirectly in its petrol stations.
