Manyu mourns Ebai TAKANG Stephen, man who revolutionised MSF.

Manyu Division, has again lost one of their illustrious sons, Mr.Ebai TAKANG Stephen, who slept into the Lord on December 14th 2019, at the Yaounde General Hospital ,after a brief illness.

Late Ebai Takang will be profoundly remembered by the Manyu community in Yaounde for his tenacious and relentless efforts in revolutionising the activities of Manyu Solidarity Foundation (MSF) that helped in promoting academic excellence amongst Manyu Children. Granted the foundation was initially created to promote academic excellence amongst Manyu Children, but Mr. EBAI at the helm of MSF, was able to transform it into a grandiose cluster that strongly fostered a fervent camaraderie and conviviality amongst the Manyu elite class in Yaounde, and beyond. MSF, under the leadership of Ebai Takang , saw a spectacular showcase of the rich and diversified cultural heritage of Manyu Division.

The PHS ex Student Association, BEXSA, will always remember their very committed and dynamic member Ebai Takang whom they fondly called “British man” due to his punctuality and assiduous temperament in forging ahead the goals and aspirations of the association. What gave a certain ambivalence to the character of the deceased was his sharpness and aura in finding solutions to very complicated issues. He always wanted to see things in complete white, without any iota of stain. He was a political stalwart of the ruling CPDM party who hated electoral gerrymandering with all his energy.

Mr. Ebai , had a very exhaustive and meticulous academic pedigree. His remarkable and exceptional University performance was sanctioned by a government scholarship that took him to the University of Reading ,in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Master of Science( MSc) Degree in Technology of Crop protection. He later moved to the University of Wolverhampton, in 1988, United Kingdom where he obtained a post -graduate Diploma in Extension, planning and Methodology.

As a foresighted and patriotic Cameroonian, the deceased quickly returned home in order to impact knowledge on young Cameroonians. He made his debut into the public service in 1986, as the Director of refresher courses, heading both the Plant Science laboratory, and the Plant Protection Departments. He occupied other significant positions in the Cameroon public service, and he was at the peak of his professional career when he occupied the prestigious position of Director of Wild Life and Nature protection in 2003. As a man of refined and immovable principles, Mr. Ebai was very fast to wage a ferocious war against some corrupt practices he quickly noticed in his department. His ground-breaking professional shrewdness guarded him to stamp out the syndrome of indolence that was visible in his department.

Mr. Ebai has never been extremely ill throughout his stay on Earth, until some few weeks back when he was hospitalized at the Yaounde Central Hospital, and later moved to the Yaounde General Hospital, where he died after a brief illness.

The corpse of this ebullient, gallant and easy going gentleman will be removed from the Yaounde General Hospital Mortuary on January 10th 2020, at 11. am.

He has left behind his wife, children, siblings, cousins, in-laws and friends to mourn him forever.
