Doomsday for Amba fighters in Balikumbat ?
The Population of Balikumbat, a village in the North West region of Cameroon says no to exploitation by Amba boys. On the morning of January 2nd 2020 they marched against Ambazonian Fighters who for sometime now are reportedly extorting money from the local population who barely have a little to feed themselves due to the crisis
The demonstration comes in the wake of recent barricades that were mounted in certain areas of the village, with all passers-by forced to donate to the struggle against their will. The villagers called on the fighters to end all financial extortion or face the population.
Balikumbat is one of the stronghold of Ambazonian fighters who have been coming under increasing pressure from the once loyal population to end the war amidst untold hardship and suffering.
There have been multiple reports of populations in other areas rebelling against the armed group in 2019.
In his end-of-year speech to the nation, President Biya said those who do not drop their weapons and be integrated back to the society would face the country’s army.
