Belo mayor joins Senator Ngam Honoré at donation to Boyo IDPs.

Boyo Division has been one of the areas hardest hit by the Anglophone crisis with casualties of diverse sorts and magnitude recorded. The loss of lives and displacement of people has been the order of the day with many fleeing their abode for obvious reasons. As such Bamenda, just like other towns, has become the new home for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) who left their previous localities with barely little or nothing to sustain their living.

Concerned by suffering of the IDPs from his constituency, Senator Ngam Honore came to the rescue of some 100 families identified in Bamenda. The donation ceremony which took place at the Blue Pearl Hotel was punctuated by speeches and words of encouragement to the displaced persons by sons and daughters of the area who unanimously called for peace to reign to facilitate a return to normalcy.

Bobe Yong Jacques, mayor of Belo, urged the people to remain loyal and avoid all forms of derogatory acts that could jeopardize their living. They were further told that in times of peril as in joy they cannot be left alone, reason why they heeded the call of one of their brothers (Senator Ngam Honoré) to grace the event.

Boyo division which is made up of Fundong, Belo, Bafmeng, Njinikom, saw their sons and daughters present to grab from the hands of one of theirs whom they sent as their mouth piece. According to Senator Ngam Honoré, the motivating factor behind the gesture remains the love for humanity and the desire to better livelihood and cognizant of the fact that charity begins at home he decided to begin the gesture with people from his native land.

The gifts consisted of bags of locally produced rice (UNVDA), tins of cooking oil, and financial assistance to aspiring businessmen .

On the question of the crisis that has been rocking the nation for over 3 years, the SDF Senate House member said the adequate solution remains an inclusive dialogue. Conspicuously seen in the North West region is the silence of some politicians who have preferred to take refuge under the pretext of the crisis to amasse wealth for themselves with little or nothing for the masses to hold on to.

What then can the region boast of from his entry into the upper house of assembly? In reply, the legal luminary said he has on several counts advocated inclusive dialogue and has further instigated the changes which if instilled would better off the lives of North-Westeners.

Coming at a time when many question the reality of such an event, the legal mind said the shape of a nation's destiny lies in the hands of the people and just like the SDF party they stand for what will benefit all.
