28 December 2019 was a fulfilling day for Nabila Audrey Monkam as she recorded an outstanding pass mark that gave her the crown of Miss Cameroon 2020. The event which took place at the Yaounde sports Comples was spiced with elegant performances from 19 beautiful girls all wearing crowns but hunting Miss Cameroon 2020.
The Minister of Arts and Culture, Ismael Bidoung Mpkatt, the British High Commissioner to Cameroon and other reputable persons from state administration and diplomatic circles were present to witness the event and give testimony of its fruits.
It was tough but finally productive to the team of jury made up of 10 people who were coordinated by the president of the jury in the person of Marie Paula Obiang.
From a cultural parade with regalia from each and every candidate to a parade with pants and a test to mastery of mother tongue, those involved were grilled for several hours.
Of the 19 girls involved the first elimination kicked out 8 girls leaving 11 girls who were later scanned. A subsequent elimination was done and 5more girls were eliminated leaving to the game 6 girls.
It was among the six girls that Audrey was chosen as Miss Cameroon. Miss Ivory Coast and Miss England were present at the ceremony to wish the candidates well and to give the winner their support.
It will therefore become milk and honey for Audrey Monkam. As Miss Cameroon 2020 she now stands to benefit from a 5million frs cfa cash prize, plus some extra cash above a million from partners of the event. She was promised a car which was served already and will be rented an apartment with a monthly salary of 150000frscfa. She took the crown from Caroline Nseke, Miss Swiss, who was Miss Cameroon 2019 and a Law student in Switzerland at the time she won. Audrey is 25 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
