New Year wishes at National Assembly: Meritorious personnel awarded medals.
Some members of Cameroon’s National Assembly have received the award of meritorious service from House Speaker, Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.
This was during the traditional New year wishes ceremony that took place at the Ngoa-Ekele Glass House late Thursday, January 9, 2020. The different delegations that extended New Year wishes included the 23-member bureau of National Assembly led by the Senior Deputy Speaker, Hilarion Etong, some MPs, senior officials working in the House Speaker’s cabinet, Technical Advisers, Chargés de Missions as well as heads of different departments of the National Assembly. After this ritual, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril then proceeded to award deserving personnel of the institution.
Receiving the distinction, the MPs expressed gratitude to the House Speaker. “I have received a Silver Labour Medal. In fact, it is a feeling of joy and gratitude. It is one thing to work and another thing to work and be recognized. So, I am immensely grateful to God and to the Right Honourable Speaker for appreciating me after all these years,” said one of the recipients, Emma Ngalle Lyonga.
Family members and friends of those awarded were present to immortalize the occasion.
