Smarting from Amba kidnaps: Fru Ndi leaves Cameroon for treatment in US.
The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi has travelled to the US for treatment after taking refuge in Yaounde for fear of further kidnappings from Amba boys.
His departure came some 29 days to the February 9, 2020 municipal and legislative elections boycotted by the CRM, CPP, PAP, UPC and MANIDEM opposition parties
Before leaving Cameroon, the Chairman accused some CPDM party elites in the North West Region of targeting the SDF by sponsoring the burning of homes and kidnapping of SDF militants.
“I ask, was the Anglophone issue targeted on the SDF that they think that they should do all these to the SDF? It is not fair for the youths of Anglophones to think that they can destroy the SDF and that’s why I keep repeating that these youths are YCPDM youths who want to fight the SDF and destroy the SDF,” Ni John Fru Ndi said in an interview in Yaoundé over the weekend.
Speaking to The Star Newspaper, Chairman Fru Ndi says he had received life-threatening messages from Amba boys if he dared enter the North West region. He continued that, the life threat is the reason he has not been to Bamenda in the North West Region lately.
Ni John Fru Ndi also revealed that he left Cameroon because of the torture he received from separatist fighters in Bamenda, and he was traveling for further treatment.
Fru Ndi before leaving Cameroon, has been in Yaoundé for close to a month.
