Anglophone Cameroonian dismissed as head of UN joint military task force in Central Africa Republic.
Colonel Tabot Orock Samuel heading MINUSCA forces has been dismissed.
The information is contained in a notice signed by the minister delegate at the presidency in charge of defense, Joseph Beti Assomo. The motive behind his dismissal is not known.
While awaiting the replacement of Colonel Tabot, the MINUSCA forces will be led by Captain Awono Louis Thadée.
Beti Assomo promised that a mission would be sent to the field to investigate the grievances advanced against the mission under the command of the dismissed commandant.
MINUSCA which is the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic is a UN peacekeeping mission, which started in April 10, 2014, to protect Central African Republic civilians under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
