At launch of campaigns: Lawan Bako tells electorate to vomit SDF, CPDM.

At launch of campaigns: Lawan Bako tells electorate to vomit SDF, CPDM.

The SDF and the CPDM which have reigned supreme in the North West politics, sharing the councils and seats, will have a hard nut to crack this time around. They are going to face stiff opposition from El Hadj Lawan Bako’s UDP which appears to be making inroads.

Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako, national chairman of the United Democratic Party (UDP), used the launching of his party’s campaigns last Saturday in Bamenda to urge the electorate to reject SDF, CPDM and other political parties as they head to the polls to vote for parliamentarians on February 9, 2020.

"The UDP urges the electorate to reject the SDF parliamentary candidates and other candidates of all other political parties that joined hands with the SDF to embezzle the parliamentary grants, abandoned their electorate and took up residence in Yaounde ", he said.

To the outgoing parliamentarians in the North West and South West regions, UDP chieftain said: "They failed to deliver. We remember that the electorate advised these MPs to stay away from the parliamentary session in Yaounde. It was a measure to let the Yaounde authorities end the marginalisation of Anglophones in the face of the ongoing socio-political crisis rocking the North West and South West regions".

"Regrettably, the SDF MPs snubbed the electorate and chose to become choristers as they went singing, beating drums, blowing whistles and dancing in parliament like film actors. They are coming back home with nothing for the people. What a shame!!!" Bako fumed.

The UDP boss re-echoed that his party says "No to all of them who want your votes again". According to him, they should "vote for the UDP legislative candidates on February 9, 2020, who are playing politics of development with human face".

He urged the electorate not to fail to "recognize the UDP "Calabash" carrying their traditional "Nkeng", peace plants for peace and justice for all".

The UDP chairman, disclosed that his party is for a renaming of Cameroon to a "United Republic of Cameroon", with a quota system of forty percent given to Anglophones in the North West and South West regions.

In the same vein, the Bochong of the Boyo community insisted that voting the UDP legislative inclusive list shall be voting the voice of the voiceless as it is a People's Alternative Political Party with a trade mark of "Justice for All".

The UDP list features eight women, seven youths and eminent Hausa-Fulani personalities. “No francophone must be appointed for an anglophone during recruitment, appointment and in the execution of government development projects", Lawan Bako stated categorically.
