Guardian Post publisher ‘decorated’ by NW Fons!

When a child washes his hands, he can eat with elders. It is based on this saying that three North West Fons gave their blessings to Ngah Christian Mbipgo, Publisher of The Guardian Post, in recognition of the feat he attained in providing the private outfit with a befitting state-of-art head office, making the Anglophone press proud.

Addressing invitees at the inauguration of the edifice last Friday after donning the star of the day in North West traditional regalia, Senator Fon Chafah XI Isaac, traditional ruler of Bangolan, flanked by his colleagues from Guzang and Mbot, promised to give the Guardian Post Publisher a traditional title when he must have created a radio or television station. He said the office opens the floodgates of bigger business for the institution.

For his part, Ntumfor Nico Halle, in his keynote address, described Ngah Christian as a shooting star but urged him to be careful because achievement is dangerous. “All that glitters is not gold”, he said. The legal luminary said he was part of the inaugural because the Guardian Post Publisher had proved his dependability and epitomized love, not hatred. He used the opportunity to urge the press to join him in re-launch of spiritual/moral values whose absence had led to moral decadence in Cameroon.

In what was seen as breaking tradition, Ntumfor Halle who has over the years been inundated with awards of excellence, this time around handed over an award from his Law Firm to The Guardian Post and members of staff.

Earlier in her address, the representative of the Mayor of Yaounde III showered praises on the Publisher of the Guardian Post for bringing development and beauty to the municipality and providing employment to youths of Yaounde III. The tarring of the road leading to the edifice inaugurated that day was singled out as a bold step and patriotic act.

Taking the floor, the Publisher of the Guardian Post acknowledged the services of all his workers, the most outstanding being Asong Ndifor, the editorialist. He disclosed that the newspaper had a monthly wage bill of 4.3 million FCFA which was paid unfailingly on or before the 25th of every month.

The inaugural, heavily attended by journalists, publishers, politicians and friends and family members of Ngah Christian, was graced by traditional music from the Wimbumland, a song by Tribute Sisters in honour of The Guardian Post, as well as performances from Kibungla Cipriano and Nji Charles.

A special magazine produced by The Guardian Post on the occasion was launched with Ntumfor Nico Halle, Fon Chafah XI and Hon. Awudu Cyprian Mbaya making the highest contributions.

A buffet crowned the inaugural which was surprisingly boycotted by the Francophone press.
