9 February 2020 twin polls: Felix Mbayu, Uphie Chinje strategise for CPDM victory in NW.

9 February 2020 twin polls: Felix Mbayu, Uphie Chinje strategise for CPDM victory in NW.

The presence of Jean Nkuete, CPDM Secretary General, last Wednesday at the Bamenda Congress Hall, was just to boost the morale of CPDM militants in the North West to conquer fear and come out en masse to ensure a landslide victory for the party in a territory previously controlled by the SDF.

The groundwork for that impending victory had already been laid down by CPDM bigwigs like Felix Mbayu , minister delegate in charge of Commonwealth Affairs; Prof Uphie Melo Chinje, rector of Ngaoundere University; Hon Enwe Francis, outgoing MP for Momo East; and Hon Wallang Richard, MP for Menchum Valley.

Mbayu has particularly won the hearts and minds of the Bamenda population by his acts of charity to especially the Ntambang community.

For her part, Prof. Uphie Chinje Melo has been instrumental in providing relief to IDPs in her Ngoketunjia constituency ever before govern humanitarian aid arrived recently.

Meanwhile Hon. Wallang Richard and Hon Enwe Francis also endeared their Menchum and Momo constituencies to the CPDM through good use of their micro-project funds for the welfare of their communities.

Minister Mbayu is said to be strategising through door-to-door campaigns to woo more voters for the CPDM. The grass root approach, social media, ear to ear strategy employed by the CPDM strategists is most likely to yield dividends.

Speaking at the Congress Hall on 29 January, Jean Nkuete exhorted militants to shun fear, display bravery as they campaign for the 9 February exercise. Addressing the masses, former PM Yang Philemon head of the permanent regional team listed out numerous advantages which to him should be used to buy electorates to their favour."In addition to decentralization the NW will enjoy the special status. Therefore a vote for the CPDM is a vote for a successful decentralization",he noted .

“We are living witnesses to a paradigm shift, as the nation is experiencing transformation”, he added.

Re-echoing the head of state’s address to the nation on of 31 December 2019, he added "...a new Cameroon is taking shape, a Cameroon that is adapted to the present values and looks to the future. Thus open your eyes so you can be a part,"he urged.

Through decentralization the NW will enjoy autonomy, management of sectors previously handled by ministries in Yaounde, Yang explained.

Ngoketunjia campaigns launched:

Meanwhile, launching campaigns for Ngoketunjia Constituency in Ndop last Saturday , Prof. Uphie Chinje emphasized that their desires sand pleas have been met through the decentralisation process where in they can manage their resources. She said the CPDM had to stay in Ngoketunjia where for the past two legislatures (13 years) it had controlled all two seats and three councils,

The divisional campaign delegate appealed to the masses to convince their sons and daughters who are separatists to drop their guns and come out of the bushes and embrace normal life.

She admitted that most of the worries of the people had not been addressed but if the CPDM is given the votes again, those elected would deliver on promises like schools and roads provided normalcy returns.
