Securing South West region: Government donates all-season vehicle.

Nine all-season Toyota and Ford vehicles built for combat have been received by the South West Regional Gendarmerie Legion Commander, Colonel Tchinda Mbouzikeu Henri, to secure the area during and after the 9 February twin polls.

Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai presented the fleet of vehicles and handed the keys to Colonel Tchinda explaining that they were donated by the Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT) to secure the Region which is undergoing a security challenge. The Governor said the vehicles would be shared among the forces and the Administration to cover the entire South West Region. Solid and robust, the vehicles are meant to ply the hilly and poor roads in the Region to bring peace and harmony “These are the first lot and more of the vehicles are expected to come to the South West Region in the days ahead”, Governor Okalia Bilai told the press.

He expressed thanks to his hierarchy for offering the material which is badly needed in the continued violence by armed groups. The vehicles are said to enable social, defence and appeasement missions so that the lovely Region of the South West could regain its onetime concord.
