Tumi’s AGC fails to execute meeting agenda, calls off press outing.

Tumi’s AGC fails to execute meeting agenda, calls off press outing.

An announced press outing programmed for 1PM Tuesday June 18 during which Conveners  of the Anglophone General Conference (AGC) intended to throw light on their next move has been called off.

The announcement  surfaced after  the head of communication of the AGC, Lasha Kingsley, issued a statement earlier in the day announcing what was going to be ‘a crucial’ statement  from the conveners.

This was supposed to happen after an in-camera meeting of members of the apolitical grouping. Yet journalists who crowded the Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral in Douala were told that there was no press outing. The press was told to wait for another time when the AGC would decide to communicate to the public.

Lasha had in his statement summoned national and international media to the meeting. The AGC saw the light of day in May 2018. It is unclear why the conveners decided to call off the press outing after the in-camera meeting.

Postponements and rescheduling of meetings is a common feature that has resurfaced repeatedly in organization’s activities.
