Limbe city mayor swings into action; announces more Tombola Prizes to be won at Limbe Festac 2020.

The pioneer Limbe Council City Mayor has swung into action, just three days after his election.
Andrew Motanga Monjimba summoned a press conference last Friday at which he announced innovations for his pet project, the Limbe festival of arts and culture (festac) now in its seventh edition. He said it shall run from March 28th to April 4th, 2020 at the Limbe community field.
The city mayor also disclosed that instead of one car to be won by a single person, this year will be no car but a series of items to be won at the tombola. These prizes include10 motor bikes, four laptops, six fridges, six deep freezers, six televisions, six gas cookers, 10 android phones, 10 standing fans, five blenders, five juicers, five pressing irons,15 water filters,10 water boilers, 10 sets of cutlery, six food flasks and five tablets. The city council hopes to spend not less than 18 275 000 on the tombola prizes.
Furthermore, Andrew Motanga Monjimba revealed that apart from hosting Festac 2020, Limbe shall be host to the African Cup of Nations which shall kick off with the first match on March 7 2021. Therefore, the Limbe city mayor is looking up to the entire population of the town to close ranks so as to give the event a huge success. He called on all to do what their best, that is by being hospitable, friendly and peaceful.
Andrew Motanga did not lose sight on the fact that there are pockets of detractors who want to disrupt the Festac event but always return to their villages to organise their own festival activities.
The Festac mission bearer also revealed that hygiene and sanitation shall be stepped up for the city and enough measures shall be taken to ensure security.
Meantime, another innovation for Festac 2020 shall be the introduction of poetry and drama by schools.
Andrew Motanga reminded the population that the council would continue to take care of its responsibilities to Limbe city dwellers. He thanked CDC, Sonara, the administration and all other stakeholders who have been assisting the Limbe city council in the organisation of Festac, especially the traditional rulers who made their presence felt.
