University of Buea: Alumni association to be revamped.
University of Buea: Alumni association to be revamped.
The administration of the University of Buea has taken steps to revamp the alumni association in order to stay in contact with former students of the institution.
To that effect, a meeting was recently chaired by the Registrar of the institution, Professor Ernest Molua, aimed at setting up concrete strategies to revamp the alumni association that has gone to sleep for a couple of years now.
At the end of the meeting, resource persons and coordinators were designated at the level of the various faculties and schools of the University of Buea.
They were all tasked to constitute a data base of former students at their various levels which would be sent to the Central Administration of the institution for compilation.
“Revamping the alumni association will help the University of Buea reconnect with thousands of former students. When the UB community is completed with a functional Alumni Association, we will be able to act like other world Universities. UB too will have an association of proud students who will unite for the greater good,” the coordinator of the Alumni Project at the Faculty of Law and Political Science said. To set up the databank, the University of Buea has thus put in place a mechanism to ensure former students coming back to the institution to either collect certificates or attestation of results to fill a form which will help provide information to the institution on their post university life.
The institution has also sent our Google documents to enable former students who are out of the country to fill the form and be added to the database.
