Fai Yengo Francis: Epitome of good judgment and positive engagement.
By Ngwe Margaret.
This gallant son of Oku is spirited and honourable; grand and majestic; thoughtful and magnanimous.
Fai Yengo Francis is a man with fundamental decency , moral authority, unimpeachable integrity and outstanding judgment. He served as Governor of the Centre and Littoral with cohesiveness, consistency and discipline. He believes that, to achieve a coherence and consensus, there should be absolute need for a positive spirit of engagement and a sense of cohesion. This explains why his administration as governor was never shambolic and dysfunctional.
He is a man who never throws caution to the wind and does not allow blurring between his professional and private life. He avoids being caught up in bungling. There is a maximm phrase that runs through his DNA, that is, having his share of doing good and resisting evil jiggery-pokery.
After the creation of NDDRC, President Biya bought a brand new telescope and took his precious time to zoom across the length and breadth of the nation, because he needed a seasoned administrator who has attained the ladder of the academic kingdom and who will be able unleash a tsunami of success. Mr Biya’s telescope fell on Fai Yengo.
Through his inventiveness, injection of peace, creativity, tenacity, decisiveness, vision, precision, and above all, passion, Governor Fai Yengo is giving the NDDR a touch of excellence. He is an asset not only to the people of the North West Region but the nation in general. Those who know him are not in any quandary as to where his loyalty belongs. It belongs to his nation and conscience.
Some ex-separatist fighters say the name Fai Yengo is the catalyst that has re-invigorated their resilience. Their message to those still in the bushes is to put down their arms and join them, as the NDDRC is a bed of roses for former separatists. War, according to them, is and only remains a senseless venture that only brings pain and suffering. It only puts people in the dark night of their souls.
Mr Fai Yengo’s overwhelming priority for peace is immeasurable. He thinks that deadlock and delay is a sheer waste of time.
He is a man who is ready to face daunting circumstances. The man is working flat out to repay the confidence given him by the Head of State.
According to Governor Fai Yengo, we must cultivate a sense of patriotism by bringing in our contribution to stop the atmosphere from fuming at a terrifying proportion with chains of bizarre circumstances. We are too responsible to be irresponsible, he says.
Now is the time to beat our swords into ploughshares, so that together we can make Cameroon a bigger, broader, brighter and a better place for peace is sacrosanct in nation building and economic sustainability.
