Whistle-blowing PC pastor resigns.

Anye-Mo-Anye Mandzong , one of the pastors of the PCC, who blew the cover over the less-than-transparent management of the church under the first term of Moderator Samuel Fonki has resigned.

Announcing his resignation after serving for 25 years, the whistle-blowing man of God said the last straw that broke the camel’s back was “My recent suspension and accompanying order to vacate my pastoral lodging was not only inconceivably unjust and inhuman, but administratively abusive and outrightly unchristian. It makes one shudder to think this was the behaviour of pastors to one of their own!” Following is the resignation statement in its entirety:

Anye-Mo-Anye Mandzong resigns from functions as a Pastor in the PCC!

... After having served the Lord my God as an ordained minister in the PCC for 25years;

... While still bustling with energy and zeal to pursue the same service with devotion and abnegation;

I am deeply pained to find myself constrained, by truly shameful circumstances, to tender herewith my resignation from pastoral functions in the above church.

I cannot muster the moral energy to relate in detail the truly shameful circumstances that have pushed me to this unfortunate decision.

Suffice it to say I took it in the hope that the present leadership can cease from their sinister machinations against my person, and direct their energy into serving God and His Church as their positions demand.

But also in the hope that no other servant of God will have to endure a similar predicament as mine at the hands of moderator Fonki and his cronies. I deem it necessary for some of the abuses to be summarily documented for future reference.

1. Let me begin with the drop of water that made the vase overflow. My recent suspension and accompanying order to vacate my pastoral lodging was not only inconceivably unjust and inhuman, but administratively abusive and outrightly unchristian. It makes one shudder to think this was the behaviour of pastors to one of their own!

2. I am being witch-hunted for objecting publicly to miscarriages and abuses of the office of the moderator, and for calling on the institutions of the Church to play their watchdog role. Not only have these institutions abdicated their oversight and regulation role, but they have rubberstamped the attempts of Fonki's administration to humiliate me by asking me to submit to counseling by the wife of the same person I am at odds with!

3. Humiliations and molestation have been the hallmark of Rev. Fonki's relations with me, and even my wife, from when I was his associate in Bonamoussadi congregation. Becoming moderator, with the new power he now monopolizes, seems to have given him and his friends Carte Blanche to exact his pound of flesh for whatever he holds against me!

I am, therefore, resigning, not only because I cannot bring myself to continue to serve under such malicious leadership, but also because I cannot stand the impotence of the Church and its institutions to call that leadership to order.

Notification of this resignation took effect from the date of signature 06.02.2020 and in keeping with the Book of Orders and the laws of the land. Accordingly, Sunday 08th of March, 2020 marked my last service in the PCC!

I look forward to the payment of whatever I am due in the Books of the Church, including payment in lieu of my annual leave which I was never granted during my entire 25 years of service.

I pray, as I leave, that PCC leadership will seek the face of God and return to serving Him, and Him Alone, rather than their pockets and egos.
