Former Cameroonian international Karaté star dies of Coronavirus in Paris.
Although no fatalities due to covid-19 pandemic have been announced in Cameroon, at least three Cameroonians have died abroad of the virus.
The latest of our nationals to succumb to the pandemic is former international karate star, Alain Siekappen Kemayou.
He is reported to have died of the infection last Saturday21 March2020 at Centre hospitalier de Saint-Denis in France.
Francis Ampère Simo, one of his acquaintances and practising karateka himself, made the announcement on his facebook page last Saturday.
The law lecturer said Cameroonian karate had been hit by COVID-19 with 45-year-old Sensei Alain Siekappen, one of the fighters of their generation, being the next casualty.
Regretting his passing on, CRTV journalist, Eric Christian Nya, commented that he was a big brother full of life. “It is sad but Alain Siekappen has just left us due to Coronavirus”, he said.
He was President of Collectif des Karatékas Camerounais de la Diaspora (COKADI), and assistant trainer at the Direction Technique Nationale (DTN) of FECAKADA.
