Covid-19: Health Minister puts number of infected cases at 113.
Manaouda Malachie, Minister of Public Health, has accused passengers who travelled into the country recently of irresponsible behaviour, after escaping quarantine.
Minister Malachie accuses them of increasing the number of persons infected with the deadly coronavirus, calling on them to ensure lives are protected.
113 persons have tested positive for the virus which hit the country early this month.
“I would like to point out that the majority of positive cases are people from countries at risk who hide in families. It is irresponsible,” Minister Malachie said on tweeter early Sunday.
“This is why, systematically denounce these travellers so that they come to be tested,” he added.
He further mentioned the affected regions and number of cases reported.
-Douala: 13 positive out of 72
-Limbe: 01 positive out of 02
-Buea: 00 positive on 02
-For a total of 14 positives out of 76 tested in this series.
-A total of 113 positive cases to date in our country.
The Health Minister who is due to launch a campaign in Douala in the coming days with a team of health experts has called for vigilance.
