God our father, in order to serve us, you gave us your son Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. You chose saint Joseph, the husband of Mary, as the father of the holy family of Nazareth. We give you thanks and we bless you. Through the intercession of this patriarch, father of the faithful of Christ and patron of the church and workers, model of father and protector of families, we pray you lord to help us to welcome him in our lives, and like him, to obey your word, to do your will, to take Mary and her son in our homes.
Grant us the grace to invoke him with confidence in our liturgies, our devotions, our pilgrimages, our merciful deeds and in our work.
Ask him again, lord to pray for us, to protect us, to ease our suffering, to deliver us from the forces of evil. May he watch over our church and our country. Most Holy Joseph, righteous man, son of David, foster father of Jesus, good and faithful servant of God, here we are, united to you, to build in love and peace the family of the children of God for ever and ever.
