Fans jubiliate as Agho Oliver confirmed Bafut-Tubah MP.
Following the proclamation of the results of the legislative elections rerun by the Constitutional Council fans, sympathizers and supporters of Agho Oliver stormed some streets of Bambili in jubilation for his victory.
The act which occurred on 7th April is in line with a total unflinching support the masses have vowed to render in hope for a new era .Oliver emerged victorious at the February 9 polls but due to petitions filed by the SDF party his overwhelming victory was again put to test alongside 11 constituencies in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon.
With the proclamation of the results signaling a landslide success, the former Secretary General of FECAFOOT NW has before him daunting challenges to address.
Expressing optimism to this, Fornjum Promise, the president of the Fans Club, reacted: "Agho Oliver understands the problem of youths and will seek solutions to them...". He added: "We are happy that our candidate who is a youth has been elected as a member of parliament and he is a leader occupying a political position not the other way round".
Bafut-Tubah constituency, like most others of the North West, lack basic amenities such as water, regular electricity flow, roads amongst others. Most recently, the outbreak of the Anglophone crisis to which youths have taken up arms against the state remains a hotbed which the MP must certainly use his youthful energy in a peace fight.
He is the first Member of Parliament to hail from Kedjom Ketinguh and youngest ever. His works therefore will either act as a motivation or a reason for the youths of the municipality to consider the old adage that deny and spread the myth of "nothing good can emerge from the glass house".
