Hon. Shey Mbuwir Tobias Banbong,MP for Kumbo.
Hon. Shey Mbuwir Tobias Banbong,MP for Kumbo.
Born on 21/12/1964, Mbuwir Tobias is a principal civil engineer for works. He attended primary and secondary school in Yaounde, obtaining his GCE O/L in 1982 from CBA Yaounde and A/L at Lycée Bilingue Essos. After obtaining a degree in Physics/Chemistry from the University of Yaounde in 1987, he enrolled into ENSPT, graduating in 1990 with an ITGC diploma. This launched him into a public service career, which has seen him rise to Regional Delegate for Transport in the South Region (2006-2008), Regional Delegate for Public Contracts for the South West Region (2012-2015), and from 2015 till date, Support Staff at the General Inspectorate of the Control of Public Contracts (MINMAP).
He has received honours as Knight of the Cameroon Merit and Officer of the Cameroon Merit.
Politically, he was Vice-President of the Bui I Section from 2007-2011; candidate head for the CPDM Municipal and Legislative lists in 2007 twin elections won by the SDF; Chargé de missions for election of Bui Senators; President of Bui IA Section from 2015 till date; candidate for Senatorial Election Bui Division in 2018.
Socio-professionally, he was President of Menchum Eagles from 2000-2003 and President of Milano Football Academy from 2003-2012. He is a notable of the Nso Fondom.
Hon. Tobias who received his attributes as MP last Thursday, is married and father of 6 children. He has the arduous task of wearing Hon. Joseph Banadzem’s big shoes.
