Grand Chancellor of National Orders: NW elite thanks President Biya for appointing Yan.

Elite of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, in the North West Region, have expressed gratitude to President Paul Biya for appointing one of theirs as Grand Chancellor of National Orders.

Former Prime Minister Philemon Yang was on April 17 appointed to the position, in replacement of another former PM, Peter MafanyMusonge, who had held the position for several years. The North West elite expressed their gratitude through a motion of support addressed to the President of the Republic. “The CPDM elite of the North West Region …, after concerting with our party executives and grassroots militants throughout the Region, heartily express our gratitude to your Excellency for the appointment, on April 17, 2020, of leader of the CPDM Central Committee Permanent Delegation to the North West, His Excellency Philemon Yang, to the important position of Grand Chancellor of National Orders of Cameroon”, the elite wrote. They also hailed the President of the Republic for  “…acknowledging the frontline role sons and daughters of the North West Region have played and will continue to play in the unity and edification of our country.”

The elite used the opportunity to thank the Head of State for measures taken so far in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic as well as “… recent strategies put in place by our great national party… This led to the resounding victory of the CPDM in the elections of February 9 and the rerun of March 22 in our Region.” Yang, who served as Prime Minister for nearly 10 years, takes over from Peter Mafany Musonge. Musonge served in that office for about 13years. He was appointed in April 2007.
