Bafut-Tubah Constituency: Hon Agho Oliver on charm offensive towards muslims and patients in Sabga.

Hon Agho Oliver, Member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah constituency, is already winning the hearts and minds of his constituents less than two months in office. He over the weekend paid a visit to his Sabga constituency in which he donated basic commodities to the muslim-dominated community. Fulfilling his promises as first published in The Horizon during his visit to Bambui, Hon. Agho Oliver donated cartons of sugar, tea and face masks to the Muslim community in Sabga as they engage in the last quarter of Ramadan.

The Sunday May 10th exercise was saluted by Mamuda Sabga,

the Lamido of Sabga .

According to the Member of Parliament, thinking of the Muslims of Sabga during this period of Ramadan gladdens his heart as the items received will be shared to all the households of Sabga.

It should be noted as part of the 5 pillars of Islam Muslims in Cameroon and beyond are observing the 17th Day of Ramadan and compulsorily must indulge in fasting except for irregular cases.

Accompanied by the Mayors of Bafut and Tubah, the peoples’ glass house representative thanked the population who turned out massively on March 22nd to vote him into Parliament.

He noted "....the people of Sabga are promise keepers. They promised me during campaigns that they will vote for me and actually voted".

He added "...after this I will come back for us to establish a project logbook in this area" .

The Mayor of Tubah, Tanjong Martin, used the occasion to call on the population to respect the guidelines set by the Government so as to bar COVID-19 from reaching Sabga.

He prescribed the wearing of face masks, social distancing and constant washing of hands with soap especially to a community whose clustered settlement and communal life style has and continues to be a pattern.

The political figures reminded the people that no meaningful development can take place in disorder.

"I am a builder not a destroyer", he reiterated.

Hon Agho Oliver further made an impromptu stop-over at Sabga Integrated Baptist Health Centre where he inspected the facility and saluted the patients. A sum of 300.000 Francs was handed to the medical doctor to clear the outstanding bills of patients who were hospitalized under diverse health diagnosis.

On the essence of such a trip he hinted: ".... I made this unannounced stop-over to see how we can assist this health facility. I have seen their difficulties, the Mayor of Tubah and myself will address them".

Dr Dimla Emmanuel, a medical doctor at the facility, expressed joy amidst hopes that patients will have a warmer stay.

Like Oliver Twist, he pleaded with the Honourable to assist his personnel with face masks, a plea the Honorable promised to honour.

This was the third outing made by the Member of Parliament since voted on March 22nd.

It was his maiden visit to his native Kedjom Ketinguh since his election. He stands tall as one of the few to touch down words with actions as many MPs are still to be felt.
