“It is not tradition that on May 19, prior to the National Day celebration, the Head of State addresses the nation. But this time and because of the very specific situation which we are living through which is COIVD-19. It had led to the cancellation of May 20 celebrations. He brought the light and made it known that every action that had been taken by the Prime Minister has been under the directives of the Head of State. He showed mastery of what is ongoing and justified reasons for softening the measures which were purely to help all. He insists that we have to put on our masks and respect social distance implying that the pandemic is not over. He preached solidarity in all fronts like assisting one another, working together to alleviate the pandemic. He stated clearly that he counts on all Cameroonians. That implies that it is not a matter of political, region of origin or tribe, a matter of being rich or poor.”
