Manyu hails Senator Anja Simon for Proximity COVID-19 fight.

The astute and diligent Member of Senate from Akwaya Subdivision,Chief Dr. Anja Simon Ngwo, has donated a huge consignment of COVID-19 preventive kits worth 8million frs,to the population of the four Subdivisions in Manyu Division, including some  Manyu indigenes residing in some towns in the English speaking Regions of Cameroon.

The huge consignment that consisted of over 2600 face  masks, 2500 Hand Sanitizers, 150 bags of rice, 25 packets of Hand Gloves, 3000 hand washing cans, including logistics were recently  distributed to the populations of the  four Subdivisions of Manyu Division, namely  Akwaya, Eyumojock, Tinto, and Mamfe Central.

The distribution exercise which effectively took place in Manyu Division, was carried out by a commission created by Senator Anja, with representatives of the four Councils of the Division present.

Meanwhile, part of these items were donated to the people of Manyu Division residing in Bamenda town , Mbanga, in the Littoral Region,Limbe and Mutengene in Fako Subdivision, with practical demonstrations of hand washing exercise, social distancing and wearing of face  masks etc.

Speaking during the donation ceremony, Senator Anja Simon remarked: “This donation of mine is to support the Head of State, President Paul Biya, for supplying COVID 19 preventive kits to our country’s 360 Subdivisions which include the four Subdivisions of my Division. It is also to add to what my kind colleague, the Vice President of the Upper House of Parliament (Senate) HRH Nfor Tabetando, who had already donated various COVID –19 kits to Manyu Division.”

The astute and versatile University Don, Chief Anja, equally made a clarion call on the people of Manyu Division to strongly respect the measures put in place by the Head of State, to contain the spread of COVID 19 ,  across the nation, especially the constant washing of hands with clean running water and soap, the social distancing of the population, and the constant wearing of face masks during routine movements.

Reacting to this important gesture by the Member of Senate from Akwaya ,the Mayors of the four Councils in Manyu Division, as well as the administration and elites , thanked  Senator Anja, for his relentlessly efforts in fighting for the welfare of his people. They praised him equally for other humanitarian efforts he has been making to help many Manyu  IDPs taking refuge across the English speaking Regions of the country, as a result of a standoff with horrendous socio-economic consequences.

It should be noted that last year, 2019 ,the soft-spoken but prolific University Don marched words with action by donating food items worth 2million frs CFA , to Manyu IDPs  in Yaounde, Bamenda, Limbe, Mutengene, Mamfe, Akwaya,Tinto and Eyumojock. He is known to have furnished the four Subdivisions with musical instruments to be used for public ceremonies.

In his conclusion during the donation ceremony for preventive kits for the feracious fight against the wild spread of COVID-19, in Manyu Division, the Member of Senate appealed to all the chiefs of Manyu Division, together with their quarter heads, to propagate the measures prescribed by the Head of State for a broad-based fight against COVID-19 in the hinterlands.
