The pioneer Divisional Delegate for Local Development and Decentralization, Meombo Linonge Daniel, has been urged to speed up the decentralization process in Meme Division

The task was assigned to him by the First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Nguime Joseph, during his installation ceremony that took place at the Kumba I Council hall recently.

Commissioning him, the First Assistant SDO said the task assigned to him is geared towards Vision 2035 for the emergence of the economy. This entails follow-up of the smooth functioning of the City and Sub-Divisional Councils; follow-up of the execution of transferred competences to Councils; assisting the Supervisory Authority in exercising State Authority on Council Establishments; and follow-up of decentralised cooperation, follow-up of all Council projects; putting in place renowned Local Council Administration; helping to facilitate the respect of councils towards the Administration;  helping the Secretaries General of the Councils to rationally utilize Council personnel at their disposal for effective results.

He was also tasked to ensure that Council sessions are effectively held on time in accordance with the calendar provided by the law; work in collaboration with Municipal Treasurers to put in place measures to effectively collect revenue despite the crisis, and collaborating with other technical services in charge to ensure accurate preparation of Council projects and effective implementation.

With the aforementioned daunting tasks, Nguime Joseph called on the City Mayor, and Sub-Divisional Council Mayors to collaborate with him to enable him function smoothly.

Mr. Meombo Linonge Daniel was born on the 20th of June 1978 in Limbe. He began his educational career in Government Primary School Bota, Limbe then proceeded to Standard Comprehensive Bilingual High School Buea where he obtained his Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificates to the University of Buea where he earned a Degree in Sociology and Anthropology. In 2006 he was employed as a codification agent in Lebialem. He also served as a support staff in the Divisional Office in Fako. Prior to his appointment, he was Chief of Service for Local Development in the Fako Senior Divisional Office.
