“I am pleased such an appointment still comes up in our days. Before now we have had a series of square pegs being put into round holes and the resultant effect has been the underdevelopment of many localities."I think if the government does things like this, the end result will always be very good".
The first deputy mayor for Bamenda II said “appointing someone who has the vocation and experience to do the work means a lot. He has been a teacher of some present-day council staff. As such, if he has been posted to work with his collaborators who learnt council management from him, it is the best thing government has done so far. However the city council of old has always been endowed and blessed with level-headed people and with the tons of experience hitherto acquired he shall of course assist the government delegate to uphold this task of cleaning the city. I am satisfied relative to the sociopolitical context we find ourselves and we do hope the new SG helps the government delegate to do more so that livelihoods step up for better changes than we have now.”
