Salatiel, Daphne raise funds against Covid-19.
Cameroonian urban music stars, Salatiel and Daphne were among a host of star names who performed, Monday, May 25 at this year’s Africa Solidarity Day concert, organized by the African Union, and the all Africa Music Award, Afrima . Popular Cameroonian host, Miss P equally served as co-host of the concert alongside Nigerian singer Chidinma and Congolese comedian Eddie Kadi.
This year’s edition of the Africa Solidarity Day concert which was aimed at raising funds for the COVID-19 response saw the artistes across the continent perform virtually as they collectively raised their voices against the COVID-19.
The live virtual concert hosted by the AU Commission and the Afrima, for the Africa Union COVID-19 response held under the theme “Health Security in the context of Covid-19” and was broadcast on Trace Television and social media platforms across Africa.
The Africa Day Solidarity Concert under the hashtag #Stronger together# is aimed at ensuring action with key messages on the presentation, protection and response measures to contain COVID-19.
The Concert served as an opportunity to show the power of Music and the crucial role of African artistes in pushing for the curb of COVID-19 on the continent as well as galvanise solidarity for financial contributions to the Africa COVID-19 Response Fund.
Some of the biggest names on the continent who performed during Monday’s show included Ghana’s Sarkodie, Nigeria’s 2Baba, Rude Boy and Chidinma, BusisWa and Master KG (South Africa). Salif Keita (Mali). Dj Mohgreen, DJ Spinall (Nigeria). Toonfan (Togo) etc.
