February 9, 2020 twin polls money: Last instalment is here; Atanga Nji demands beneficiary parties’ accounts for transfer.
The second instalment of funds set aside for campaigns for the 9 February 2020 twin polls is ready,
The announcement is contained in a release signed by Paul Atanga Nji, Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT) last Tuesday, 26 February..
The MINAT boss invites leaders of political parties that took part in the polls to submit their bank accounts (relevé d’identité bancaire) to the department of political affairs at MINAT, Room 308, so that the amount they deserve is transferred there-in.
Atanga Nji specified that this second instalment would be distributed proportionately according to the number of seats won at the elections .
The CPDM which won over 320 council seats and 159 parliamentary seats is expected to grab at least 70 percent of the amount set aside which has not been disclosed. The first instalment dished out in late January 2020 was put at 1 billion FCFA.It was shared out according to the number of constituencies for which the various parties were fielding candidates. Again, the CPDM which fielded candidates in all constituencies nation-wide had the lion’s share of the allocation.
