7 separatist fighters neutralized in Kumba.

A combined Force of the 21st Support Battalion and the Gendarmerie have successfully neutralized some seven armed separatist fighters in Malende, a neighourhood of Kumba II, during a serious confrontation on June 2, 2020.

According to the Commander of the 21st support battalion who led the operation they were tipped off by some of their informants about the whereabouts of these separatist fighters whom they have been hunting for the past few days after they attacked and killed two commercial bike riders for not respecting their Monday ghost town in Kossala and Fiango in Kumba II Sub-Division.

Talking to the press, the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong who organized the operation, said he was very happy with the forces of law and order who carried out the exercise.

He said if these guys don’t put down their arms he would continue to hunt them. He urged other “Amba Fighters” to respect the call of the Head of State on them to lay down their arms. It should however be noted that after the successful operation and the neutralization of the seven “Amba Fighters”, the security forces retrieved the following items; seven guns, life bullets, cartridges, cell phones, money and some concoction that they use to take before going out for operations.

The seven who have joined their ancestors included one “General Carl” Masango. They had been terrorizing the population of Kumba for the past two years.

In a related story, some other two separatist fighters who were collecting tools were also neutralized a few days ago in Nake-Bokoko village in Mbonge Sub-Division by the defence forces.
