Manaouda Malachie says COVID-19 corpses can be buried within 48 hours.
 

Persons who die of the coronavirus can now be buried with dignity in their town of residence.

A press release by public health minister Dr. Manaouda Malachie on 16 June  granted authorisation to family members to give a befitting burial to their loved ones.

In the release, Dr. Manaouda gave 48hrs for all who die of the COVID19 to be buried.

The Public Health Minister made the about turn after receiving several denunciations about unorthodox practices perpetrated by some health institutions.

The minister urged officials of some health institutions as well as services in charge of post-mortem operations related to to COVID-19 victims to observe and strictly apply the resolutions of the Scientific Council in conformity with Notice No 006/AE/CSUSP/2020 of 22 May 2020.
